Reconstructive Surgery

Reconstructive surgery is the branch of plastic surgery that involves improving the form or function of a body part that is rendered abnormal due to trauma, a tumour, congenital or developmental abnormalities, or an infection.

It is a diverse field that includes breast reconstruction following mastectomy for breast cancer, treatment of severe hand or facial injuries, management of burns, correction of cleft lip and palate deformities in infancy and many more.

Cosmetic Surgery

Cosmetic (or aesthetic) surgery is the branch of plastic surgery dedicated to enhancing the appearance of any area of the head, neck or body. The goals are to improve the proportion, symmetry and overall aesthetic appeal of a particular area.

This is often accomplished with surgical procedures such as breast augmentation or liposuction but there are also non-invasive techniques available to achieve these goals. These include Botox®, injectable fillers and many others.
